Steve Thomas founded the Beverly All-Stars in the spring of 2002.
After playing solo piano at Café Luna in Beverly area of
Chicago the previous year, Steve was joined by Eric Williams on bass guitar in February of 2003. Their first performance (with Eric’s
wife singing) was a musical adventure. A few months later, drummer
George White came into the group and provided a swinging beat. By
the summer, guitarist-extraordinaire James Seaberry walked on and
took the group to another level.
The All Stars have played at many venues throughout the city including Navy Pier, South Shore Cultural Center, and The Beverly Arts Center and
with many fabulous musicians such as flutist Steve Flowers, vocalists
Greta Pope and Liane Williams, and saxophonist Jimmy Ellis. The
group has always played jazz for the love of the music and the opportunity
to meet people – musicians and fans – who share the
same interests. |
